Our Vision
Our Vision

The church is one and varied, including all believers in Jesus Christ who is the source and head of His body.

As a local gathering of those with faith in Jesus Christ we meet to worship each Sunday at the Breaking of Bread, for fellowship and encouragement, and for singing and learning together. We also meet at various times throughout the week for prayer, Bible study, fellowship and service – all such gatherings are to provide a place of care and encouragement. It’s our mission to be a growing vibrant community of believers in Ottawa and to fully follow Christ’s mandate for His Church by applying 1st century New Testament principles in a 21st century Church. (Ephesians 4:14-16 and Colossians 1:10).

We envision achieving this mission by focusing primarily on four things:

  • By being a church family where each person realizes a sense of belonging and contributing to the mutual support of one another and by being encouraged to develop and use their God-given giftedness for the benefit of others.  (1 Corinthians 12:25-27)
  • By being a body of believers in which the Lord Jesus Christ can truly be worshipped as Head of His Church with weekly prayer, praise and remembrance, living lives of gratitude and simple obedience to His Holy Word.  (Acts 2:42, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26, Colossians 3:16-17)
  • By being a lighthouse from which the light of the Gospel, salvation from sins found alone in our Lord Jesus Christ, can clearly shine out to our community, our country and the world.  (1 Thessalonians 1:8)
  • By being a center of learning, equipping and growing in the knowledge of our Lord, so that we might individually and as a church live a life of faith that more and more reflects the wisdom, grace and love seen in Him.  (Ephesians 4:11-16)
